Great news, I will blog about them later
I don’t feel much like blogging these days, similar to The Divine Miss N: my head and heart haven’t been in it (blogging).
But I have excellent news, which I will post about later. Now let me say that spring is here in full force, I had a delicious WE outside, having picnics and walks wearing tshirts and cotton trousers, and the life of this MBAer is beautiful.
Classes this quarter look great, all of them much more solid than some of the disappointments last quarter (see angel angie in London).
Finally, I will write about the good news more in detail later, when I feel more like blogging about it, but I just want to leave you with two quotes about one of the key elements of success: Persistence:
“Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success†Napoleon Hill (American author, 1883-1970)
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race†Calvin Coolidge (American 30th President of the United States, 1872-1933)
The weather is beautiful,…
and the last couple of images are here to prove it: The first one was last week at Bath, were we had the first lunch outside in a terrace, in a beautiful small french restaurant. Bath is a delightful little town to visit, with some roman era remainings (nothing to write home about if you come from Barcelona, awesome in the rest of the cases) and a bunch of other interesting places to visit.
The next one is just this afternoon, in Hyde Park, while doing a picnic on the sun, followed by a relaxing nap on the sun, under a sunlit tree. Three hours flashed by, and relaxed kicked in.
Isn’t London nice in spring?
Conference call in heaven: Skype & Google Docs

Yesterday I discover a new use for a technology: The conference call in heaven, enabled by a call on skype and a “Google Doc” that everyone in the conference can edit.
With two persons, it worked flawlessly: we were discussing and writing the notes on the fly, agreeing on specifications for a project and also on next actions to be done, prioritizing actions and subprojects. All enabled by the common text document, as if we had a virtual blackboard. To top it up, by the end of the conference call, everything was in writing and everyone had a copy of it.
Technical notes: The refresh ratio on Google Docs is good enough to edit simultaneously, but it can become a mess if everyone is editing the same line at the same time. So the best practices is to say, “wait, now I am editing” and coordinate verbally.
If you want to try it out, I loved it:

Alanis covers “My Humps”
Yes, I am a super fan of Alanis. And even when she publishes a parody video of a horrible song (was this an April's fool video?), I feel extremely pleased. For your viewing pleasure:
The video is incomplete without the original. Check out the Black Eyed Peas song, which is probably one of the most horrible pop/hiphop “creations” I have ever suffered.
Copied from the comments in Youtube: "She finally understands irony!" (that one was mean!) But very fine irony indeed!
PS: I know this is completely MBA offtopic. Obviously, I am on spring break ![]()
