How to prepare for the MBA? (Question for 1st & 2nd years and admits)
I just posted this at the portal, where admits & students can interact. Hopefully, I will get many nteresting answers.
Hi everyone!
I am very excited about the MBA, expecting to go through a transforming experience. With 6 months before the start of the program, I have started to plan for the program, and I am wondering:
How can I best prepare for the MBA?
What can I do to be ready to get the most out of the experience?
I would like to get others’ perspective on this issue. What other admits are planning, what current students advice, etc…
It is a very broad question, therefore all suggestions and approaches are welcome. For example:
* Books to read.
* Subjects to work on.
* Courses to exempt and how to exempt them.
* Personal reflection to do before the MBA.
* Network.
* Work experiences to gain*: Switch jobs, internships, nonprofits, join a startup for a few months, others…
* Personal experiences to live.
* etc…
There are other threads to deal with more logistic & practical issues (financing, visas, housing, etc…), which are critical to be in the right learning state of mind. However, I would prefer to discuss only the professional aspect in this thread.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Cheers,
