Dear reader,

We are conducting a super quick survey as part of our final MBA project. Once completed you’ll receive a link to an audioguide of the Louvre for free!!

There are only 6 questions, so please try be as accurate as possible. It should take less than 5 minutes.

Please pass it on. The more responses we get, the more data we have to play with.

Many thanks!

Why am I not going back to Google?

Posted April 4th, 2008
Dear blog readers and friends,

I've been asked a couple (hundred) times whether I was considering a return to Google, and people stare in disbelife when I say I'm not interested.

Maybe fake Steve jobs can illustrate why more vividly.
"Dude, we give these idiots free lobster tails for lunch; we do their laundry and cut their hair; we've got pony rides on Tuesday afternoons. And we still can't keep them. What the hell is going on? What do I have to do? Put up gates and guard shacks and those tire shredder things that they use at car rental places? Why is this happening to me?"
[…]
you make a big deal of only hiring these super-high-IQ kiddies and the fact is that most of them truly are smart, but then you put them into this horribly dull and easy drone work on AdWords and AdSense and they're all bored to tears and totally disappointed because they really really really thought they were going to do something meaningful with their lives and now they're just worker bees — pampered worker bees, sure, but still — and maybe they should have taken that offer from McKinsey but they really thought Google was going to be so cool and blah blah blah.

The whole post is hilarious, and apparently they are hemorraging some serious talent.

Interesting development.

Wasted opportunity. With a woman, a black man and a Mormon as front runners, the next president of the USA will be yet another WASP male.

Not that I have anything against Mr McCain specifically, but 3 out of 4 front runners had refreshing profiles. What a pity!
And that is my forecast 9 months in advance: 44th President of the USA will be Mr. McCain.

What a journey! My life has been as intense as it could possibly be!

I’ve lost count of visits and / or number of posts. Interesting also how the world of blogging has changed in the 4 years I’ve been blogging, now social sites are all the rage (and where most writing takes place!)

Stumbling on Happiness - Book of the year

Stumbling on Happiness: The most thought-provoking, paradigm-shattering and, fun book I’ve read in a while. It’s making me review so many of my long hold ideas about what makes me happy and how I think about my long term goals and objetives.

The books explores all our cognitive biases when consider what makes us happy, and how we usually get it wrong. Very telling!

Therefore, read it, because you might think you know what makes you happy. But you are wrong and you have no idea about it*!

* For all the MBA-DEO-crowd, you could say that what makes you happy is quite an unk-unk, an unkwown unknown (and for the record, Rumsfeld did not invent that expression!)

6 comments x 1.000.000 latent RSS readers per comment = 6 million RSS readers. Not bad, not bad. Thanks for following!

Thanks for replying to my previous post!
By the way, self-delusion should not be abused. Only when counting web traffic and valuing startups at the same time (Who said YouTube? Who said FaceBook?)

A watched pot never boils. An awaited school application reply never arrives. Good luck, good nerves and good distractions to all B-school applicants!

For me, the worst phase of the application process was waiting for the final outcome!
